Dr. Michael Morio grew up on a farm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he graduated from Kennedy High School. Following high school, he completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Iowa while participating on the Iowa Hawkeye football team. Dr. Morio continued his graduate education at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry & Dental Clinics, where he earned his degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. During his time in dental school, he participated in several mission trips to Jamaica where he provided dental services to underprivileged residents. Dr. Morio received awards for performance from the Iowa Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Dental Research Support Award during his dental education.
After graduation, Dr. Morio completed his four-year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. The residency program provided experience treating a vast spectrum of trauma and orthognathic cases. Dr. Morio is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association, as well as certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Morio enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, their three children, and German Shepherd Dog. He also enjoys spending his free time hunting, fishing and hiking.
